A recipe that makes a tempting luncheon or quick family supper is made with canned luncheon meat. Called a Top Hat Supper, it consists of slices of Spam or Treet topped by a “hat” of well-seasoned instant mashed potatoes.
Baked for a mere 15 minutes, a celery soup sauce is served over the top. “Because it has a salty flavor, a fruit salad or Jell-O mold and rolls go well with this,” Diane said. This recipe is easy to make, economical and very tasty. – Excerpted from The Roselle Register (Roselle, Illinois) April 23, 1969
