Peanut butter fudge meets rich chocolate fudge in ribbon fantasy fudge -- a delicious homemade layered candy recipe from the '80s.


  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 5-1/3 ounces evaporated milk
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 7 ounces Kraft marshmallow creme
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (crunchy or creamy style)


  1. Combine 1-1/2 cups sugar, 6 tablespoons butter, and 1/3 cup milk in a heavy 1-1/2 quart saucepan.
  2. Bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly.
  3. Continue boiling 4 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate pieces until melted.
  5. Add 1 cup marshmallow creme and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract; beat until well blended.
  6. Pour into greased 13- by 9-inch pan.
  7. Repeat the above steps substituting peanut butter for chocolate pieces.
  8. Spread over the chocolate layer.
  9. Cool at room temperature; cut into squares. Makes 3 pounds.
