Peanut sitting-pretties cookies: A retro recipe from the 60s & 70s

Made with peanut m&ms chocolate candies, these adorable thumbprint cookies look like little birds’ nests!

A bit unique in the world of cookies, Sitting Pretties are rolled in nuts before baking them halfway, then you make a divot with your finger (or something with a similar size and shape, like a small spoon) and return them to the oven for a few minutes more.

After you fill the top of the cooled “nests” with a little frosting, top each with one colorful egg-shaped m&m candy, and you’ll have a fun treat that kids will flock to try.
