M&M's Color Cookies

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Total Time: 27 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup M&M's Plain Chocolate Candies

Instructions

  1. Blend Crisco and sugars.
  2. Beat in vanilla, water, and egg.
  3. Sift remaining dry ingredients together and add to the sugar and egg mixture. Mix well.
  4. Stir in M&M's Plain Chocolate Candies.
  5. Drop from teaspoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 375 (F) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Makes about 3 dozen 2-1/2-inch cookies.

For additional color, press extra M&M's Plain Chocolate Candies into cookies before baking. Some candies crack slightly in baking, adding texture and interest to the cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2-1/4 cups Robin Hood all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 cups m&ms plain chocolate candies

Instructions

  1. Cream sugars, shortening, eggs, and vanilla thoroughly.
  2. Spoon Robin Hood Flour (not sifted) into a dry measuring cup. Level off and pour measured flour onto waxed paper.
  3. Add soda and salt to Robin Hood Flour (not sifted). Stir to blend.
  4. Add blended dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Mix well.
  5. Stir in 1/2 cup m&ms Plain Chocolate Candies. Reserve remaining candies for decorating.
  6. Drop by teaspoonfuls or shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes.

Notes

Yield: 5 to 6 dozen cookies.
