Hunt’s potato-filled burgers
You fix it in just about 20 minutes. You serve it for less than a dollar [1959 prices] — to four hungry people. And — it’s delicious!
These big, hearty hamburgers are stuffed with tender cubes of potato, all spicy with Hunt’s Tomato Sauce. Then you simmer them in Hunt’s. That ripe-tomato goodness makes a wonderful gravy!
Potato-filled burgers, retro-style
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups cooked, diced potatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon grated onion
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 1 eight-ounce can of Hunt's tomato sauce
- 1 pound ground beef
Instructions
- Toss together potatoes, seasonings, onion, and parsley with 1/4 cup Hunt’s Tomato Sauce.
- Divide beef into 8 thin patties.
- Top 4 patties with equal portions potato mixture.
- Place remaining patties over filling; pinch edges together well.
- Brown burgers in hot greased skillet.
- Turn, and pour remaining Hunt’s over them.
- Cover; simmer 10 minutes.
