Onion meatloaf, vintage-style

Yield: 6 servings
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour 50 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 package Knorr Onion Soup Mix
  • 1-1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1-1/2 cups soft bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1-3/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Lightly combine 1/4 cup soup mix, beef, crumbs, egg and milk with fork.
  2. Shape into loaf and place in a roasting pan.
  3. Bake at 350 (F) degrees for 1-1/2 hours.
  4. Remove loaf from pan.
  5. Mix remaining soup mix and 1-3/4 cups water into drippings in pan.
  6. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
  7. Blend flour with 1/4 cup water.
  8. Stir into mixture in pan.
  9. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  10. Serve with meatloaf.
