A retro recipe for a delicious cheddar-brandy cheese ball with slivered almonds that's perfect for parties.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (8 oz) shredded natural cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 1/2 cup toasted sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. In a 1-1/2 quart mixer bowl, combine all the ingredients except the almonds.
  2. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well-blended. 
  3. Shape mixture into a large ball. Roll in toasted almonds.
  4. Cover, refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  5. Remove cheese ball from the refrigerator half an hour before serving.
  6. Serve with assorted crackers.
