Jeweled cheese ball
A retro recipe for a delicious cheddar-brandy cheese ball with slivered almonds that's perfect for parties.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (8 oz) shredded natural cheddar cheese
- 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon brandy
- 1/2 cup toasted sliced almonds
Instructions
- In a 1-1/2 quart mixer bowl, combine all the ingredients except the almonds.
- Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well-blended.
- Shape mixture into a large ball. Roll in toasted almonds.
- Cover, refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Remove cheese ball from the refrigerator half an hour before serving.
- Serve with assorted crackers.
