How to make vintage-style savory potato fritters

This retro recipe for savory potato fritters comes from Heinz, and during WWII, they said these made for an ideal meatless main dish for lunch or supper. Heinz aklso recommended that these be served with spicy apple butter — a product that’s hard to find nowadays, unfortunately.
