Here is an easy 1970s chocolatey Coconut Joy no-bake cookie recipe from C&H. With it, you can easily make these sweet treats for the holidays — or any day of the year!

Old-fashioned Christmas coconut joy cookies (1979)

Coconut joy cookies (no-bake recipe)

Yield: 3 dozen cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
  • 2 cups C and H Powdered Sugar
  • 3 cups coconut, 8 oz
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted (2 squares)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in saucepan. Remove from heat.
  2. Add powdered sugar and coconut. Mix well.
  3. Shape rounded teaspoons of mixture into balls.
  4. Make an indent in the center of each cookie, and place on cookie sheet. Fill centers with melted chocolate.
  5. Chill until firm.
  6. Store in refrigerator.
