These red, white and green homemade no-cook peppermint patties are tasty and super easy to make. Best of all, you can color them for any occasion!

While the red and green mint candies are great for Christmas, you have many more easy options. Try red, white and blue for patriotic holidays like the Fourth of July, a variety of pastel shades for Easter, pink and red for Valentine’s Day, and purple and orange for Halloween.

No-cook peppermint patties candy

These colorful homemade no-cook peppermint patties are tasty and super easy to make. Best of all, you can color them for any occasion!

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4-3/4 cups (about 1 pound) sifted powdered sugar
  • 2 to 4 drops of each red and green food coloring (used separately)

Instructions

  1. Thoroughly blend butter or margarine, corn syrup, extract and salt in large mixing bowl.
  2. Add sugar; mix with spoon and hands till blended smooth.
  3. Divide the mixture in thirds.
  4. Knead red food coloring into one portion of mix, and green into another. Leave one portion white.
  5. Shape into round balls and place on waxed paper-lined baking sheets.
  6. Roll in or sprinkle with granulated sugar and flatten with tines of a fork.
  7. Let set several hours until firm before handling.
