No-cook peppermint patties candy
These colorful homemade no-cook peppermint patties are tasty and super easy to make. Best of all, you can color them for any occasion!
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
- 1/3 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4-3/4 cups (about 1 pound) sifted powdered sugar
- 2 to 4 drops of each red and green food coloring (used separately)
Instructions
- Thoroughly blend butter or margarine, corn syrup, extract and salt in large mixing bowl.
- Add sugar; mix with spoon and hands till blended smooth.
- Divide the mixture in thirds.
- Knead red food coloring into one portion of mix, and green into another. Leave one portion white.
- Shape into round balls and place on waxed paper-lined baking sheets.
- Roll in or sprinkle with granulated sugar and flatten with tines of a fork.
- Let set several hours until firm before handling.
