Epic vintage Star Wars cake pans & candles from the 80s that kids went wild for

In the early 1980s, Wilton rolled out a batch of Star Wars cake pans that turned ordinary birthday cakes into mini blockbusters. Inspired by The Empire Strikes Back, these pans featured characters like Darth Vader, R2-D2 and Chewbacca, and came with step-by-step decorating guides to help even beginners bake up a galactic treat. It was one of the first times fans could bring Star Wars home in such a hands-on, creative way.

Along with the pans, Wilton also released molded Star Wars candles that doubled as party decorations. Each one featured a character from the movie and came with number inserts for ages 1 through 6, plus a few themed messages. Whether perched on top of a homemade Darth Vader cake or just set out on the party table, these little figures added a fun finishing touch for any Star Wars fan.
