A high-ceilinged country living room formed the background for this selection of Pendleton’s modern furniture with coordinated carpet and fabric.

The gray tonalities of the chairs and curtains were reinforced by the gray walls and ceiling, reclaimed from monotony by the brilliant red sofa, blond oak tables, decorative Asian tapestry, and splashes of jade green.

Decor shown in this vintage gray 1940s living room

Furniture: Sofa, tier tables at either end, upholstered chairs which appeared armless until sat in, triangular end tables, and four triangular tables that formed the large coffee table.

Carpet: Striped shades of gray and black, the pattern running in parallel with the curtains and ceiling joists.
