Take a look back at this retro cute country-style dining room style that was a blend of textures, patterns, colors and time periods.

A boldly patterned carpet brought the fresh look of the sixties to this space that was filled with antiques along with traditional patterns and accessories.

In this room decor from 1965, the brick red and white latticed rug replaced a plain carpet in this country dining room, which made everything in sight seem as up-to-date as the white dining table entirely clad in Formica.

The carpeting shared its classic color scheme with the old-fashioned floral print wallpaper above the dado rail, which was identical to the curtain fabric that covered the window.

The same brick red appeared on the door and trim, as well as in the alcove that held an antique buffet chest, with the shelves above holding a collection of vintage blue and white ceramic dishware.

One other important element to give this room a charming country feel: the old-fashioned ladderback dining chairs, painted entirely in a charming cornflower blue enamel.
