This elegantly decorated master bath, clad in golden and black marble, was “paneled” with painted moldings in the Louis XVI style.
While the sinks and bathtub were pure white, the warmth of gold was otherwise repeated throughout the room — on moldings, faucets, knobs, towel rods and accessories.
A folding wall of adjustable mirrors over the sink basins shut out a window that gave the room only a little light.
Illumination for this bright 1960s marble bathroom came instead from the lighted mirror frame, and a charming Directoire crystal chandelier. At each corner of the domed ceiling, bulls-eye mirrors further reflected light.
Yellow towels that matched the tones from the golden marble completed the look.
