A black & white wallpaper pattern all over changed a small catch-all room into a pretty guest bedroom.
The in this room wallpaper was a feminine Victorian print on a ticking background.
In the windows, the simple curtains were a coordinating charcoal and white mattress ticking. To match, the wood floor was painted charcoal, spattered with white.
The window seat niche was created by two built-in cupboards — one, with a door, the other, door-less and fitted with paper-covered boxes for sewing gear.
The window seat, 3o inches deep, doubles as a bed and has storage underneath.
The lemon yellow chair, table, mirror and stand — reminiscent of old wicker porch furniture — added cheerful accents.
A fresh pattern on the wall — even more than fresh paint — works bigger decorating wonders than almost anything else you can do.
