This simple living room setup would have probably appeared in a starter home back in the fifties.

A range of colors and textures played together harmoniously. There was a central wall painted white blue, and adjacent was a window wall that had been completely covered with leaf pattern nylon curtains in two shades of green on a white background.

The white faux leather modern sofa sat on small legs on top of the forest green carpeting. Red cushions on the floor created an extra seating area, and red accent pillows on the couch matched nicely.

The shiny black lacquered bench in front of the window could have worked as either a coffee table or a bench for yet more visitors.

Above it, a pendant lighting fixture with three brass bell-shaped lampshades (similar to this modern-day version) gave this space a distinctly modern flair.

Sheer, flimy white curtains and a low planter box created a divider between this room and the next.
