The color of this bedroom’s fanciful canopy-like trellis over the bed — and the pink carpeting, plaid bedspread and wood furnishings — repeated the spectacular profusion of colors and shapes found in the large-scale floral patterned wallpaper.
That same pink, purple, teal and blue wallpaper also appeared on the ceiling — but only over the trellised section of the frame around the bed.
Instead of having lamps take up space on the small wall-mounted floating bedside tables (similar to these), simple brass pendant lights with straight white glass shades were suspended from the ceiling.
A pair of chairs, the headboard and some other furniture were painted in lavender, which softened the look of this late 60s decorating scheme, giving it a retreat-style feel.
