In this 1970s home, a colorful peacock wallpaper pattern was the springboard for a fanciful hallway design.

The wallcovering’s foil background combined with the graceful design gave the area a metallic — almost iridescent — glow.

The plush purple carpeting made imaginative use of the wall theme with pale pink and red cutout designs inserted to mimic the eyes in peacock feathers.

White furniture let the detailed feather pattern on the walls stand out — enhancing the light colors of the design, but not competing with it.
