Fun birthday cups — Rice Krispies ice cream cups recipe

1. Prepare one batch of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats Recipe [see below]

2. Divide warm mixture into 2-1/2 -inch muffin-pan cups coated with cooking spray.

3. Evenly press mixture into individual cups.

4. Cool. Remove from pans and fill with your favorite non-fat frozen yogurt. Serve immediately. Makes 16 favors. (Cups may be filled with [ice cream], pudding, nuts or raisins.)

For a chocolaty change of pace, substitute Kellogg’s Cocoa Krispies cereal!

Rice Krispies treats recipe

To make the Rice Krispie treats for this recipe:

3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 package (10 oz., about 40) marshmallows OR 4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal OR Cocoa Krispies cereal

Microwave method: In microwave-safe bowl, heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. (Microwave cooking times may vary.) Add Rice Krispies, and stir until well-coated.

Divide warm mixture into sixteen 2-1/2-inch muffin-pan cups coated with cooking spray. Shape mixture into individual cups. Cool. Remove from pans.

Before serving, fill with pudding, ice cream or frozen yogurt. Top with ice cream topping, whipped topping or nuts, if desired. Serve immediately.

Stove-top method: In large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Add Rice Krispies, and stir until well-coated.

Divide warm mixture into sixteen 2-1/2-inch muffin-pan cups coated with cooking spray. Shape mixture into individual cups. Cool. Remove from pans.

Before serving, fill with pudding, ice cream or frozen yogurt. Top with ice cream topping, whipped topping or nuts, if desired. Serve immediately.
