Metal-tinted cloth is new spring mode
by Betty Brown
Gun metal cloth is new again. You may remember it was a novelty six years ago. It was used for the practical tailored suit. Now many elegant afternoon costumes are made of it.
Gunmetal cloth and the new platinum thread trimming have been effectively combined in this three-piece costume I saw the other day, just before Mme Marguerite of the Fashion Art League of America tucked it away in the trosseau of a spring bride.
The metallic threads make a rich garniture for the bodice of the dress, and give a touch of soft color to the long, wide skirted coat. From the flare of the short skirt, you’ll gather the skirt of the coming spring will not lack width.
