Don’t yawn your way through another summer sandwich. Get with these exciting new spreads you make yourself.
Take a package of Fritos brand Green Onion, Taco, or Bean Dip; blend in a few goodies and a measure of Tabasco brand pepper sauce, made from a family recipe watched over for more than 100 years, and presto, “Mom, what did you put in the sandwich? I like it.”
1 package Fritos brand Green Onion Dip Mix
1 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp Tabasco brand pepper sauce
1 cup chopped chives
Juice of one lemon
16 slices luncheon loaf
16 slices white bread
Paper-thin carrot strips, optional
Mix Fritos brand Green Onion Dip and sour cream according to package. Stir in 1/2 tsp Tabasco. Add chives and lemon; stir lightly. Place 2 slices luncheon loaf atop each of 8 slices bread. Place heaping tablespoon of dip on each. Garnish with carrot strips, if desired. Top with remaining slices of bread. Makes 8 Dipwiches.
