Two new Fords for 1969 (1968)

Two better ideas?

Ford Motor Co staged a midnight champagne party for newsmen last week to introduce its new four passenger Continental Mark III (right), a car definitely designed for buyers with champagne tastes.

This successor to Ford’s Continental Mark I (1939) and Mark II (1955) features a Rolls-Royce-style grille and will carry a basic sticker price of $6,585. Available options (such as $500 air-conditioning system) could boost that total by another $1,000. Even so, Ford hopes to sell 15,000 models this year.

The new model [above]  was snapped during a private session for Ford advertising executives in Miami. Reportedly, it is Ford’s LTD for 1969, which will go on sale next fall.
