Decorating wrongs made right: Bedspreads (1965)

The wrong way

If you have an extra large bed, don’t make the mistake of trying to cover it with only a full-size bedspread. Legs, casters, and even part of the frame are sure to show. This gives the bed a skimpy unfinished look. And, this one decorating fault — as shown here — noticeably detracts from the decor of the entire bedroom.

The right way

Bedspreads are now available to fix extra-large beds. Or you can easily “stretch” your old full-size bedspread by adding a mix-or-match dust ruffle.

It comes ready to use and fits neatly between mattress and box springs. Or, for an original look, exercise your sewing flair by designing an attractive dust ruffles of your own.
