Combine pudding mix, gelatin and cold water. Cook according to package directions. Cool about 5 minutes. Stir once or twice. Then add ice cream. Stir until melted.
Arrange six cookies in the bottom of a greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Pour 1/3 of the pudding over the cookies. Then place 12 cookies on the top of pudding and four cookies against both long sides of pan. Continue layering pudding and cookies, making 3 layers of each. Chill until firm (at least one hour).
To unmold, draw a knife around sides of pan, turn cake onto serving plate. Garnish with whipped cream. Makes 8 servings.
