Yum! Yum! New chocolate-coconut party pie
The pie shell: Delicious as candy. Easy. Just melt 6 ounces sweet chocolate, 2 tablespoons butter. Stir in 1/2 box of coconut (cocoanut). Pread in 9″ pie dish and then harden in refrigerator.
Filling: Combine in double boiler 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin, 1-1/2 cups milk, 3 beaten egg yolks, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir well. When spoon coats, cool. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 box coconut. Beat 3 egg whites stiff. Fold in. Mix in 1/2 cup cream, whipped. Pour into hardened pie shell. Refrigerate 3 hours.
Before serving, decorate with 1/2 cup cream, whipped, and shaved sweet chocolate.
