Lemon pie recipe
Five eggs, whites of three for frosting. Beat eggs lightly, add one cup sugar, one tablespoonful melted butter, grated rind and juice of one lemon and one orange, half cup cold water. Bake in crust. Beat whites stiff, add one tablespoonful sugar; brown lightly.
Apple custard pie
Three lightly beaten eggs, one cup sugar, one teaspoonful cinnamon, one cup milk, two ripe apples (grated), Bake in crust. If desired, frost top with whites of two of the eggs.
Three eggs, whites of two for frosting. Beat eggs lightly, add one cup sugar, one cup cream (sweet or sour), half teaspoonful cloves, one cup chopped raisins. Bake in crust.
Bake crust first. Three eggs, whites of two for frosting. Beat eggs, add one- cup sugar, one large tablespoonful flour; add this to two cups boiling milk. Boil until it thickens. Flavor, and when cool put into crust. Frost, brown lightly. This cream is good for layer cake and cream puffs.
