The quick and quiet Douglas DC-9 is bringing the jet age to just about everybody.

The new Douglas DC-9 is opening an entirely new approach to air transportation for more and more cities and towns all over the world. In effect, the twinjet DC-9 is creating jetports where none existed before. And the DC-9 is adding a new dimension to existing jetports, too: a nimble new jet service for both people and airfreight. An important chapter in this success story is that the DC-9 already has established the highest mechanical reliability rate of any commercial airliner. The DC-9 is now in service or on order for 33 leading airlines.
