The Jersey Shore was popular long before reality TV characters like Snooki, JWoww and The Situation helped make the place well-known across the US. But you can be sure that 100 years ago, people would have never possibly imagined the role spray tanner, hot tubs and bikini tops would eventually play in further popularizing that quaint little place they could go to be beside the seaside.
